Conversations and Connections

I had a great time at Conversations and Connections this weekend. Here are some of my top takeaways:

  • You have to make time for your writing
  • Make progress on your writing every day, even if that progress isn't related to your story (e.g., doing a craft exercise)
  • You can play with any POV you want (collective! second person!) as long as there is a good reason you're using that POV
  • Sometimes if you're stuck with a project, switching up the POV can help you get new insight into the story
  • If you're writing, that time is not wasted time
  • Learn the nitty gritty grammar rules to really excel at writing

Looking forward to next year's conference already. :)
